Passion for Poland
Wyszkow, Poland
“Our town of Wyszkow has 30,000 people living in it, and I only know of 30 born-again believers who are living here.”
Those are the words of Pastor Krzysztof Adamkowski, as he emphasized the reality of the dire spiritual condition in Poland. Only 1 in 1,000 people have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; the other 999 will spend eternity separated from God. Krzysztof’s church, Społeczność Chrześcijańska, was planted by one of European Initiative’s partner churches, Christian Fellowship North in Warsaw, Poland. The mother church in Warsaw knew that the church plant needed a spiritual boost. Pastor Krzysztof went on to tell us that over 73,000 small Polish towns like Wyszkow do not have one single evangelical church! This is precisely why 25 passionate believers from Valley Creek Church in Flower Mound, Texas, recently travelled to this spiritually needy region of Europe. By God’s grace the team impacted many lives for Christ.
Our first outreach in Wyszkow was literally minutes after a draining 7-hour train and bus ride from Berlin. The long travel day did not deter the VCC Team as they jumped right into ministry action! As we drove into a dreary and dilapidated housing project our first sight was the town’s corner store, busy with men of all ages attempting to drink their worries away with alcohol. Everywhere we looked we saw poverty and hopelessness in the countenances of the Polish people.
We decided to set up a portable speaker system in the field right across the street from the projects. Interest began to spike as the VCC Team began to dance to a popular hip-hop line dance. As the music pulsated into the open air, a crowd began to form and by the third dance men and women were jumping in and dancing along! The team then performed an impacting drama and gave personal testimonies on how Jesus saved their lives. The Texas Christians then moved their way into the crowd and began one-to-one conversations with the same people they were just dancing with. Through the fun-loving dance and compelling drama hearts were opened!
This story was repeated several times over the next day and evening in different public squares in Wyszkow. Hearts were opened and many seeds were sown. As we spoke with the lost on the streets we invited them to a “cultural event” planned for our last evening in town. The purpose of this event was to connect these lost sheep to Pastor Krzystof’s church. Over 40 attended the evening event and nearly half of them gave their lives to the Lord! One Polish woman was ministered to by several members of the team for more than an hour, and was radically delivered from demonic oppression! These new believers are now being discipled by a strong community of Christians. Please pray that they continue to grow in their new relationship with God.
As we departed for our next leg of the trip in Warsaw, Pastor Krzysztof told the team, “This was the most encouraging and fruitful evangelistic outreach we have had in 15 years! Thank you for coming to our little town and please come back.”
Warsaw, Poland
As the Valley Creek and EI team departed from Wyszkow, expectations grew in everyone’s heart to see the love of Jesus poured out in the same way in Warsaw.
In Warsaw’s busiest metro station the VCC team partnered with a local church that ministers on the streets every week, feeding the poor and proclaiming the Gospel to hundreds of lost Poles. The bustling capital city did not distract or hinder the VCC team in any way from their mission. During past trips to Europe the VCC team knew that artistic dances would spark interest in city squares and their powerful drama would move upon cold hearts.
As the time came for the dance to begin, the square had become absolutely jammed with on-lookers. We had to form a human wall to block off enough space for the girls dance team and again for other team members to perform the drama. The dance and the drama drew an audience of several hundred people. God was doing something mighty, right before our eyes! Immediately after the drama, EI and VCC team members gave testimonies and mini sermons over a loudspeaker system - most of the crowd listened attentively! As a team member would preach, the other Americans dispersed into the square engaging in one-to-one conversations. By the end of the evening 5 more persons gave their lives to Christ!
A new Passion for Poland was placed upon our hearts as we were privileged to share the love of Christ to so many lost souls in Wyszkow and Warsaw. By God’s mercy we are seeing lives saved in Europe! May many more Europeans come to know Jesus Christ in the next few years!

God is So Faithful. It is so great to see the move of God in Poland. Not only were the lives of many poles changed but individually we were all radically changed as well. I am so thankful for the relationships that have been created with the ministry in Warsaw and surrounding areas. I know that God is doing many wonders daily in that region that needs the light of Jesus to shine so brightly. Please continue to pray that the Spirit of God’s power will bring more farmers to reap the harvest. Thank You Jesus!!!
