Look Into My Eyes

“What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.” – Saint Augustine

Empty eyes within spiritually darkened Europe reflect unrealized identity. Faces jump into my head and I see mirrors of the minds that are clouded by hurt, pain and lost identity… mouths that aren’t speaking, but with eyes that are yelling the confessions of a broken heart.

This past summer I spoke to hundreds of Europeans and what I saw and heard pierced my heart. Compassion overwhelmed me as I watched tears stream down faces upon the realization of being spiritually lost. Alone and searching, millions of shattered lives in Europe have never had the opportunity to hear what Jesus thinks about them. In a continent of over 750 million souls… less than 2% profess faith in Jesus Christ! Entire people groups are unknowingly walking through life with a spiritual splinter gouging their soul.  Broken politics - the world’s wisdom - promised Europe hope and wholeness, but all it has given it is disconnection, desperation and depression.

Enter European Initiative. Our vision is simple, yet strategic: we are called to Change Lives and to Change Europe. EI does this one life at a time through hundreds of Christians who have traveled to Europe to share their personal stories of God’s love and forgiveness. God’s desire for EI is not a small one: it’s a vision of thousands of Christians being mobilized to take back the continent of Europe! Just as young soldiers gave their lives 70 years ago on the beaches of Normandy, now is the time for believers from around the world to give their lives to reach a continent in dire need.

Whether it is through compassion ministries, large-scale events and conferences or urban outreaches, we are steadfast in reaching people in their current condition. This year alone EI has ministered in 7 European countries. Jesus came specifically to “seek and save the lost.”(Luke 19:10). Humanity has always been in a need of a rescue mission, and by God’s grace we have been on the frontlines with Him, rescuing the spiritually dying in Europe.

In just a few short weeks we will be mobilizing teams to Hungary, Romania and Croatia. The physical and spiritual depravity continues to be great in these war-torn countries. Wars are costly, but the need to conquer evil is priceless. A spiritual war is no different. Will you please prayerfully consider sowing a financial gift to help with our ministry costs? Thank you for standing with EI and praying for us as we continue to bring a spiritual awakening to Europe. By God’s grace the shattered soul of Europe will be redeemed!
