Play It Again Sam!
European Initiative recently hosted acclaimed pianist Samuel Rotman in Berlin, Germany, and Warsaw, Poland, where he performed 11 concerts. Mr. Rotman is considered one of the top 8 Beethoven pianists in the world, having trained at The Julliard School in New York City. He has performed in many of the world’s great concert halls including the Vienna Musikverein, Carnegie Hall in New York, and the famed Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
Sam is a Jewish believer in Yeshua (Jesus). While playing his captivating concerts he blends his passion for music with his passion for God. In all eleven of his concerts, the awestruck silence during the performances is pierced only by the clarity of the pieces of Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and others. After listening to such God-given talent, the audiences are eager to hear Sam’s intriguing story.
His Orthodox Jewish upbringing meant he had never been exposed to the New Testament. Wherever Sam went, audiences were spellbound as he related his revelation that by reading the New Testament while a student at Julliard, he concluded that Jesus is indeed the promised Messiah. What makes this scenario so riveting is the fact that so many precious Jewish people were in the audiences, including Holocaust survivors who were honored at one of his Warsaw concerts. More than one tear was shed as Sam so openly shared his heart. His stirring testimony and revelation of Yeshua left many of the Jewish people in attendance thinking about their own eternal choices.
Already plans are in the making for an encore performance to additional European cities in 2011. European Initiative is honored to partner with Sam Rotman, bringing culture and the gospel to Jewish and gentile Europeans.
